Homework will officially start next week.

Some students are choosing to read for extra credit homework this week.  Reading homework is recorded on the blue reading log found in their reading secion of their 3 ring binder.

Next week we will be starting a unit on penguins so today we will discuss some of our prior knowledge about penguins and what we would like to know more about.  Students also will take another spelling pre-test that involves writing sentences that are dictated to them.  They will creat a web of topics that they know about, to use as future writing topics when they have free choice writing time.

In math today we will finish our estimation activity with cubes, then move on to working on the concept of 100.  We will build cube arrays that make 100 and play a game called Close to 100.  Ask them how to play it, and you could help them practice at home!

We will have our first class meeting today where we talk about how the week went, celebrate our successes and identify anything we might need to work on to create our positive school family environment.

Have a great weekend.  I am really enjoying getting to know your child!
