Students will be getting five spelling words today to study. Their homework is to use the words in a way that shows that they know how to spell them and know what they mean. They can write them in sentences, they can write a story using the words, they can make a cross word puzzle, etc. These beginning words are quite simple, but will be getting more difficult as the year progresses. Also in the future, students will also be adding two words of their own that they need to work on.
In reading we are continuing to read about penguins and keep tracks of our thinking as we read. Homework is to read at home and record our time on the blue reading log.
In writing we are choosing a topic that we know and care about to write on. We will do some sharing of our writing at the end of the period.
Math today will involve the concept of multiplication. We will build some arrays to demonstrate the multiplication that we are doing. Homework is a new whole sheet, plus the next two rows on the other sheets in the math section of their binders.
Students have library with Mrs. Wood today.
