Penguin research continued!

Students are really enjoying learning about their kind of penguin!  Ask them about what they have learned!  Homework in reading is to continue to read and record the time on the blue reading log.

We will be having a spelling test that includes the five words that we have been focusing on the last few days.  Students are encouraged to look the words over again tonight in order to be ready. We started writing about the penguin they are researching in writing today.  You will see a final copy next week at meet the teacher night.  (Thurs., Sept 17).

In math we played a game to reinforce the multiplication facts for 2’s, 10’s, and 5’s.  We also reviewed a doubling strategy where you break a larger number into parts and double the parts.  Homework is the usual sheets and rows.

We will be doing our blubber experiment in science. Ask your child if blubber helped to keep them warm!
