Today in Science we looked at a 50-50 mix of vinegar and water to see how much carbon dioxide was produced. We’ve determined that we can use baking soda as an indicator of acid being present in foods, and that the amount of gas produced tells us something about the concentration of the acid. We will test more foods tomorrow.

In Math, Mrs. VanderMay taught you a lesson on integers. Your assignment was MA11 - Practice worksheet 2-9.

In Reading we discussed the questions from The Gold Cadillac and you did the Scholastic News about the Great Depression. We’ll correct your answer sheets tomorrow.

Book orders are due Thursday.

In Reading we worked on questions for The Gold Cadillac. Your next deadline for quizzes and book reviews is Dec. 1. January 12 is the next pizza reading deadline.\

In Science today we wrapped up Investigation 2 - our work with sugar. Remember to complete your What I learned, what I think, what I wonder…. section of your notebook. You also had two things to do at home tonight: 1) look at Nutrition Fact labels on foods around your house and see home many you have with (and without) corn syrup or high-fructose corn syrup as ingredients; 2) you have an opportunity to earn extra credit by doing the Home-School Connection paper and writing up what happened.

In Math we worked with median, mode, and range. Your assignment was MA9 p. 111-113 #6-15 and ALL the spiral review on p. 113.

In Reading get your home record sheet signed. We finished reading The Gold Cadillac today and you made several journal entries about it.
